Auf dem Eisbach surfen ist kein Geheimtipp mehr: in jedem Guide kann man darüber lesen. Um so mehr habe ich mir schon immer gewünscht, einen von den Jungs mal portraitieren zu dürfen. “Ich habe in Spanien und Kalifornien gelebt. Da ist das Surfen auf dem Eisbach natürlich schon was anderes, aber es ist eine tolle Alternative, wenn man nicht am Meer leben kann. Das Surfen ist eine Lebenseinstellung. Da gehört mehr als nur das Board dazu.”
Und dann kam der tollste Spruch: als ich mich verabschiedet habe mit den Worten “Danke, Du hast mir einen Traum erfüllt.” kam nur kurz und trocken zurück: “Ach, das höre ich imemr mal wieder nachts.” Viel Spaß noch in München.
Surfing on the Eisbach is not a secret anymore: it is now listed in all guide books. All the more I always wanted to portrait one of the surfers. “I lived in Spain and California. After that it is not the same to ride the Eisbach but it is a wonderful alternative if you can’t live by the sea. And surfing is more than just a board. It is a way of living.”
