“Ich habe zwei Söhne und ich war nie streng, aber wenn es um die Schule ging war ich unerbittlich. Andere konzentrieren sich darauf, dass die Kinder später Geld nach Hause bringen, aber das war mir nie wichtig. Geld ist dreckig und es kann dir jeder wieder wegnehmen. Was du im Kopf hast, kann dir aber nie wieder jemand wegnehmen.
Ein Sohn hat gleich studiert, arbeitet jetzt bei BMW und verdient viel Geld. Mein anderer Sohn wollte nach dem Abitur erst mal eine Ausbildung machen. Als er ausgezogen ist, hab ich ihm meinen Wohnungsschlüssel gegeben und ihm gesagt, dass er jederzeit wiederkommen kann und nicht wie ein Fremder klingeln muss. Nach drei Jahren ist er tatsächlich zurückgekommen und hatte keinen Ausbildungsplatz gefunden. Jetzt ist er gerade im letzten Jahr seines Studiums.”
“I have two sons I am was not very strict with them. Only if it came to school I was relentless. Some others want their kids to bring back home some money but this is not important to me. Money is dirty and they can take it away from you. But what you have in your head nobody can take away from you.
One son studied right after school, works for BMW and earns a lot of money now. The other did want to do a apprenticeship after school first. When he moved out I gave him the key to my flat and told him that he can come back at any time and he does not have to ring the bell like a stranger but can open the door himself and can go back to his room any time. After three years he came back because he hadn’t found a contract for an apprenticeship. Now he is in his last year of University.”
