“Schon als Kind hatte ich den Traum zu fliegen. Einmal bin ich wirklich 8 Stunden lang am Flugsimulator am Rechner gesessen, weil ich bis nach New York fliegen wollte. Also bin ich morgens um 6 Uhr endlich gelandet und bin dann völlig übernächtigt aber glücklich in die Schule gegangen. Ja, man kann sagen, dass ich – wenn es ums Fliegen geht – ein echt Spinner bin. Ich hab nämlich eigentlich Höhenangst. Wenn du mich jetzt da oben auf ein Gebäude stellen würdest, würde ich irr zu zittern anfangen. Aber wenn ich im Flugzeug fühle ich mich fast sicherer, als hier auf dem Gehsteig.
Ich könnte noch tausend Geschichten erzählen – alleine von Bits & Pretzels, was ich seit einigen Jahren mit zwei Freunden auf die Beine stelle. Wir hatten das Konzept ein Startup Konferenz auf dem Oktoberfest zu veranstalten und was soll ich sagen: es war eine sensationell gute Idee, so dass sich jetzt alle fragen, warum da vorher noch keiner drauf gekommen ist. Aber dieses Jahr haben wir wirklich was auf die Beine gestellt, was eigentlich alle Lichter ausgeschossen hat: Kevin Spacey hat bei uns auf dem Event gesprochen! Das war wirklich eine unglaubliche Erfahrung!”
“Even as a kid it was my dream to fly. I remember one occasion where I literally sat 8 hours in front of the flight simulator at my computer, because I really wanted to fly to New York. So at 6 am in the morning I did the landing smoothly and then I went directly to school – completely tired out but happy. Well, I guess you can say that I am a complete crazy person if it comes to flying. Because in the real world I am afraid of height. If you would let me stand on one of those buildings, I would shiver like crazy. but in a plane I feel even more comfortable then right here on the pavement.
Well, there are so many more stories I could tell – let alone of the event Bits & Pretzels I started with two friends a few years ago. We had the concept to do a startup conference at the Oktoberfest and what shall I say: this was such a good idea that now everybody is thinking: hell, why did nobody else thought about that earlier. But this year we had the major highlight: Kevin Spacey was right there at our event as a speaker! This was really an incredible experience!”
